As a social scientist or researcher working in the field of human services, you are expected to support your writing with logic and scholarly evidence, instead of passionate opinions or appeals to your audience. This voice is the standard for published peer-reviewed research. You will be expected to read and synthesize the meaning of many of articles about your problem and to present these facts as supporting evidence in a scholarly and objective tone. In this Discussion, you will identify qualities of scholarly tone and strategies for maintaining those in your dissertation.
