Description
On a topic of your choosing, construct a thoughtful, nuanced argument that reflects your research findings. In order to avoid simply summarizing facts, make your best effort to take an informed position and organize your writing around it. Possible approaches to a position could be ethnographic (Why is this music important to its practitioners? What roles does it play in social contexts?), technical (How does a particular instrument or technique operate in context, and what important conclusions can you draw about it?), or comparative (How does this concept expand our understanding of music from a particular cultural origin? How does it compare to other musical practices you are familiar with?).
