Question Description
I’m working on a sociology writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Identify why people decide to immigrate to another country. What would cause people to risk their lives to immigrate to America?
Identify the hegemonic structures and their effects. What is the hegemony doing and why?
Think of the sociological issues around the identities of “immigrant” versus “American”: Unpack this, what do people think about immigrants? Why do they think this? What structures in society caused Americans to feel this way about immigrants despite being a land of immigrants?
Finally, what are your thoughts on this issue? Should we make immigration more accessible?
