Description
comprehensively explain your example of oppression; what is it, who is impacted and how, what are the effects, etc. Also integrate your intersectional perspective by explaining how my perspective affects my thinking on this topic. (me being a white women). Lastly explain how feminism promotes social change for this topic. The feminist strategies can be individual or social in nature, but should reflect personal, or community change. Include a second intersectional perspective that is subordinate (oppressed) to one of yours that is privileged. Example; if you are white, consider of color, if you are straight, consider LGBTQ. And explain how might this perspective experience, understand, explain, and analyze the example of oppression in ways that are different than your own? Lastly, while writing this include evidence/ support your claim in 4 readings, “Hood Feminism” by Mikki Kendall reading “the fetishization of fierce” (pgs 127-136) and “fear and feminism” (pgs. 159-172). Reading “7 ways heterosexuality is still compulsory” by Susan Cox. “From the F word to indigenous/ feminisms” by Luana Ross. Don’t simply reference them, but demonstrate that you read it and understand them to support the thesis.
